Hi, Misty-My name is Amanda (LJ is BlueFalconChick), and I noticed that you are a moderator in the LJ lesbian community. I hate to post something here on your private journal, but I think that it may offend some people should I post it on the community and I wanted to get in touch with a moderator.
I know I'm not the only one bothered by this-but why do we have advertisments for other communities on the Lesbian Community? It seems a bit crass to me that people post "Please Join (fill-in-blank-here) With Me!!!" and then post a HUGE banner that just eats up the friends page of anyone who is a member of the Lesbian Community here.
I'm not a big fan of promoting your new community on your other communities anyway, but I would rather people keep it to a link, perhaps, rather than a large banner proclaiming their love for whichever community is this month's fad. As I said before, I know I'm not the only one annoyed by this, and I have found several of these posts on my friends page recently from the Lesbian Community and I wanted to contact you and see what you (as a moderator) thought of the subject.
